StarNav Co-Founder and CEO Joshua Morales competitively selected as a finalist for a Spirit of the Entrepreneur award
Riverside, CA – 11/16/2022 – Tomorrow night, the Spirit of the Entrepreneur Judges will name the top entrepreneurs in six categories at the Riverside Convention Center for the 2022 Spirit of the Entrepreneur Gala. Finalists for each category have been competitively selected from over 300 nominees. Among these nominations is Dr. Joshua Morales, Co-Founder and CEO at StarNav, who was nominated by the City of Riverside and then chosen by Spirit of the Entrepreneur judges as a finalist to receive an award in the Small/Emerging Enterprise category.
Encountering challenges to earn an honest living while earning multiple degrees from some of California’s most prestigious universities – UC Riverside and UC Irvine — Joshua describes “through my education and career trajectory, I have been managed by a wide range of leadership styles. This trajectory allowed me to identify management styles that were the most successful in motivating me to go above and beyond the standard employee.”
His motivation to start StarNav stems from his upbringing. As he wrote in his application to the Spirit of the Entrepreneur Awards Judges, “not coming from a high-income household has given me the unique opportunity to understand the challenges of rising from the bottom to a position of being able to offer jobs to the next generation.” Something Morales strives to achieve as his company’s growth continues into next year.
To date, StarNav as a company has earned multiple grants and contract awards from the U.S. Department of Defense and the National Science Foundation. The StarNav team is beginning to partner with million- and billion-dollar companies to bring new products to the autonomous vehicle industry. Over the next two years, they plan to grow their work force by three times their current size and support the production of new products they are developing – reinforcing Morales’ hope to offer jobs to the next generation of American workers. The company has plans to move into a larger building in Riverside later next year as they continue in their endeavors to be one of the world’s top positioning, navigation, and timing companies.
Dr. Morales, whose compelling origin story and a vision for a brighter future, reinforces the Spirit of the Entrepreneur Award Judges’ decision to name him as a finalist for 2022.
