StarNav Awarded Navy Contract
StarNav has been competitively selected and awarded a Navy SBIR contract in a recent DoD SBIR proposal round to enhance vehicle positioning reliability and accuracy during GPS outages!
The Department of Defense is looking for novel approaches for positioning, as there has been a recent surge in GPS jamming and spoofing incidents that can interfere with mission execution. This has become a more prominent issue, with over 10 thousand reported incidents in recent years.
StarNav’s positioning systems use specialized receivers to produce positioning information from signals that are in the environment around us but were not intended for positioning (such as cellular and low Earth orbit satellite signals). StarNav is currently under contract with the Army, Air Force, and now the Navy. These technologies enhance positioning resiliency for military applications and make navigation a safer endeavor for the commercial sector.
