Digital Signal Processing/Navigation Engineer

Founded in 2020, StarNav was formed to bridge the gap between fundamental research and applications. StarNav has since been awarded contracts with the Air Force, Army, and Navy, and is continuing to grow quickly. We are looking for skilled, educated, and dedicated people to help grow and shape the future of StarNav!

We are currently seeking a DSP engineer with a focus in communication and navigation systems.

The selected candidate will create and verify software signal processing algorithms for use in novel navigation receivers.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Simulate communication channels using standard protocols and realistic dynamics.

• Design digital signal processing algorithms for radio navigation receivers.

• Design and test algorithms with simulated and real waveforms.

• Perform research and development on state-of-the-art signal of opportunity software-defined radios.

Requirements and proficiencies:

• Full proficiency with MATLAB.

• Proficiency with C/C++ and digital logic principles.

• Strong linear algebra background.

• Bachelor’s degree in related field with 1+ years of experience or master’s degree in related field.

• Good knowledge of radio receiver physical layers from RF-to-bits (de-modulators, decoding, equalization, etc.)

Required Qualifications:

  • B.S. in EE/EECS/ECE/CE
  • To comply with U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the United States (i.e. Green Card holder), or other protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
